The main thing we're looking for: Original content.
We want original articles and editorials and essays that
you want to share with the folks on the internet. Of course,
we do have a few rules…
Article Content:
A. Any article submitted to Area219.com must be owned
entirely by you. We're not looking for "article mill" stuff,
we don't want work where you've already sold the copyright
to someone else, and we certainly don't want bulk submissions,
be they by hand or automated.
B. We are most definitely not looking for Spam or
advertisements. This means we don't want articles primarily
focused on selling a single product, service, person, or
company. We're not into promoting multi-level marketing
or affiliate marketing, we're not going to publish anything
promoting work from home businesses, or any other money
making schemes, and we're not into article about starting
a business. Even if you didn't write the article to advertise
anything in particular, if readers will probably think it's
advertising, so will we.
C. Articles must be somewhat unique. This doesn't
mean you've got to reinvent the wheel and win a Nobel Prize
for your incredible insights every time out, rather, we
just want the article itself to be comprised of unique content.
We don't want a minor rewrite of something someone else
has written, and we don't want content owned by someone
else. Feel free to submit your article to other publishers
and sites, but if you don't retain copyright, we can't accept
it.
D. As of now, we have a policy banning the following
content.
Gambling
Credit and loans
Pharmaceuticals
Sexual enhancement
Personals sites
Counterfeit merchandise
Alcohol
Weapons
Tobacco and related products
Hacking, warez, or illegal downloads
Adult content
Profanity
Illegal drugs
Racial intolerance and violence (not to say you can't give
advice on writing crime novels or something, but we're not
in the business of promoting real life violence)
E. We can be a little iffy on hyper-linking. Hyper-links
are allowed, but we have certain criteria. If the link doesn't
match these criteria, don't be surprised if an editor removes
it from Area219.com…
May not contain more than three self-promoting links,
and this includes the links within the bio
No more than six links per article
You may not link to websites which could be detrimental
to the search engine rankings of other articles on our site
May not be affiliate linking
May not link directly to file downloads
Must link to a valid website
Must not link to age-inappropriate websites
Must not employ user-redirection
If your links do not meet the above criteria, we may remove
the links, or just not post the article at all.
F. We allow images, but we have some criteria for
them, as well.
Images must belong to the author
Externally hosted images are allowed, but only if the author
clearly indicates their own ownership
Externally hosted image links must not be broken
G. No press releases.
H. We don't like any of the following, nor do we
want you to link to websites promoting any of the following.
Pornography
Obscenity
Mail order brides
Hacking
Cracking
Hate speech and violence
Fanaticism
Intolerance of race or religion
Insults, libel, slander, defamation, or airing of personal
grievances
Weapons
Illegal subject matter
Age inappropriate material
I. All articles must be written in English.
J. Articles must be moderately well written in terms
of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
K. You may allow others to republish your article
with instructions at the end of the article, just so long
as those instructions are compatible with our guidelines
and terms of service.
L. No keyword blocks or keyword density text.
M. The article must contain something useful to potential
readers, and not just basic "common sense". In other words,
no fluff.
2. Article Formatting:
A. Main Body:
The article must be formatted properly, with a single
line between paragraphs, and no linefeeds at the beginning
or end of each article. Do not add your name or the article
title to the beginning of the article body. Those will appear
at the top of the article. Any instructions or a "resource
box" should be placed at the very end of the article body.
Don't use too much bold text or strong formatting, as this
can be seen as a type of keyword stuffing.
B Title
User proper capitalization At least three words in length
Should read well, don't keyword stuff your title, making
it hard to read No URL, and no HTML formatting Don't use
a person's name unless that person is a public figure We
usually get the best results which ask or answer a certain
question, but be honest, and do not allude to information
that the article does not, actually, contain
C. Author Bio:
Write this in third person. Just give a brief description,
list your qualifications and experience. One paragraph, and
only one or two hyper-links.
3. Author Account:
A. Terms of Service: Agree to and follow the terms
of service, simple as that.
B. Accurate Information: Don't exaggerate or lie about
your qualifications, and don't register with a false name.
You may use a pen name if you like, but register with your
legal name.
C. Use a real photo of yourself. No logos, no drawings,
just a photo of yourself.
